That's a Strong Cup of Coffee

Coffee With a Cause is not your average coffee shop.  We are a coffee shop with a cause.  Run mostly by volunteers, CWaC is a labor of love for those who participate.  We seek to use our coffee shop as a way to better our community and the countries where our coffee is grown.

Coffee With a Cause is a ministry of Pillar Church in Locust Grove, VA.  The church decided to begin CWaC because they wanted to do everything they could to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of the people here and abroad.  Members of Pillar travel to Bali each summer to provide for the spiritual needs of the people by establishing churches and by providing for their physical needs such as food, water, education and shelter.

In 2008, our team first traveled to Indonesia and taught English in villages and schools and in 2009 we visited again to build an orphanage.

You may think, "Bali?  Isn't that a popular tourist destination?"  Yes, it is.  Bali has millions of tourists each year making it one of the most visited destinations in Asia.  But Bali's beauty is only skin deep.  A short drive away from the coast reveals a drastically different economic reality than the capital and a hopeless spiritual landscape.  Our goal is to use the resources provided by CWaC and the generosity of the people of Pillar Church to make a difference both physically and spiritually for the people of Bali.

You can join the cause by buying a cup of coffee from our shop, buying a bag of coffee from our website or by attending one of our Sunday evening services at 5 pm (in the coffee shop) or volunteering at the shop a few hours a week.
